Scuba Diving in Roatan

     If you love to scuba dive, you need to visit Roatan and dive the 2nd largest reef in the world, and the healthiest, the Meso American Reef. Roatan's New Airport

     We all know that Roatan keeps making all kinds of lists for top tourist destinations and best beaches, among other things. Things to do at Mahogony Bay

     Mahogony Bay, Roatan is the cruise ship port for Carnival cruise ships and its sister ships. The other cruise ships lines dock in Coxen Hole, the main town on Roatan. If you are coming on a Carnival cruise, there is so much to do at Mahogony Bay. Read the attached article to find out what great things they offer. Even though it looks like a lot of fun, don't miss out on seeing this beautiful island, tasting the fresh seafood and meeting these warm, friendly people.

     In case you are not coming on a cruise, when there are ships in, sometimes the guards let you in to shop. There are some great stores and the market with made in Roatan and Honduras handicraft. Check it out.

Bambu Sushi and Fusion, Sandy Bay, Roatan-Restaurant Review

What a wonderful meal we had at Bambu Sushi and Fusion in Sandy Bay. We opted to eat outside as the only table inside was a high top with those hard wooden seats, not conducive to enjoying what I anticipated was going to be a great meal. There is not much of a view outside as the restaurant sits on the road but there was a wonderful breeze and you could see the sunset through the trees. We started with some Asian style empanadas that were great with just a little hint of spiciness. I could have made a meal just of those . Our daughter and our neighbor, who came with us, also shared a spicy tuna sushi which they both raved about. My husband had a sweet and sour tempura shrimp in a pineapple which was beautifully presented but he said it was a little bit too sweet for him. It was a nice portion of shrimp, they were big and perfectly cooked. I had spicy pineapple rum glazed ribs over vegetables and rice which I enjoyed though I thought the ribs were a little on the tough side but it was served with a great rice and vegetable combination. I ended up taking half of it home. My daughter had orange chili spiced chicken which she loved but she also ended up taking half of it home as she was full from the tuna sushi.
